Session Types and Prices
 

Please contact me for additional details, types of sessions and custom pricing information. Prints included as part of a session or purchased do not have the watermark seen on the proofs. Print packages are never a requirement and start as low as $35 (plus sales tax) for a package which includes: 1 8x10, 2 5x7's, 1 4x6 and 1 set of wallets. 

If it appears you're only paying a deposit/session fee and/or you can't determine or find out how much a photographer is actually charging for your type of session and the photos, it might be time to look somewhere else.  Fees are posted below and always reasonable with you in mind.  No hidden fees and no on the fly pricing requiring you to first fill out contact information before obtaining ever changing fees which vary depending on demand. No outlandish print package purchase requirements, in fact there are no print package requirements. Some local studios will require you to spend $400 for a session with no included digital files and then charge you $700 for their cheapest package containing only 5 digital files and $1400 - $1800 if you want them all, with no idea how many that might be. Where all photos aren't already included as part of the package, my rate for the complete album of high resolution digital images with print release is currently only $200. Compare my galleries to those charging significantly more. That said, extensive Photoshop work takes time and most importantly talent, so if a photographer is creating digital art then those higher prices might just be worth it to you.   
   

The session fee includes:
 

• My time and talent for the session and preparing images.
   
• Digital images of your proofs as indicated in session details.
   
• An online private gallery for you, your family and friends (password protected if requested) to view your proofs and order professional quality prints a la cart.
   
• You'll get at least the number of digital images indicated for each session. The amount of photographs taken can vary greatly depending on how interactive the subjects are. 
   

Prints are from a Professional Lab only specializing in photography. As mentioned print packages start as low as $35(plus sales tax) 
(1 8x10, 2 5x7's, 1 4x6 and 1 set of wallets). See package specials at bottom of page. Processed pictures are individually edited for color, exposure, tone and clarity. Minor blemishes (i.e. a spot, fabric string, teeth whitening) and distractions in background may be edited at photographer's discretion while processing. Shipping is additional.

***Pricing listed is based on events taking place within 15 miles of DeForest WI. Fees charged by the venue where the pictures are to be taken and excess travel time are not included in the prices listed below and may increase them. Session prices include sales taxes in the amounts listed below, as such there are no additional charges added on for sales tax. 

 

Weddings: 

Wedding Day Package $1,500*    As you start your new life together, you'll have many expenses and wedding photography should not be burdensome.  This is not a starting price but the price you'll pay for the details listed below, no hidden add-ons. 

My rate reflects a full day (6 to 7 hours) starting with the bride getting ready on through the first dance. My goal is to document each part of the day showing the love you and your new spouse share with each other and your family and friends; the details that you have spent so much time planning and the fun at your celebration. The end result are hundreds of beautiful images that will tell your story.  And the best yet, an online gallery of high resolution photos to download for printing/sharing is included in the price. Nothing more to buy later. You may see others indicate that a complete digital gallery with high resolution images is included in their price. In many cases they are only providing a viewable gallery that you will then need to buy expensive prints from. Make sure to ask are digital files included in the cost or are they extra. 
   

All images from the session will be put into a password protected gallery where you and your family will be able to view them, download them and order prints at your convenience. Print ordering is not required and you'll have the ability to download the same digital files with full printing rights. Downloading is password protected so you can decide who will have the ability to download your images. 
 

Some rather expensive wedding photographers showcase their personal work yet often don't attend a wedding sending an associate to cover in their place whose work you may not ever have seen. I will be the photographer at your wedding.  

Make sure your wedding contract specifies who will be photographing your wedding not just the business name as that could be anyone but make sure you have it in writing who the actual photographer will be that you're paying for. 

Just The Essentials Wedding Day Package $850*    Planning a quick wedding or get away and only looking to have the essential parts of your day covered. This package provides up to 3-4 hours of photography time and similar to above the digital files are included in the cost. I've captured several backyard and quick family weddings.

(*Contact me for custom pricing if your wedding will not be an all-day celebration.  Minimum charge is $300, an hourly rate can be discussed. I've captured several park/backyard weddings. Additional hours added to the above packages are at the rate of $200/hr for the Wedding Day Package and $300/hr for the Essentials Package.)

High School Senior Sessions:

Two options are available for senior portrait sessions (Prices effective 2024):
    Signature Session:          $325          Includes approximately 1-1.5 hours of photography time and digital images as noted below. 
   
   Deluxe Senior Session:  $450         Includes approximately 2-3 hours of photography time allowing for travel to multiple                                                                                                                         locations and digital images as noted below.  

    Session fees are due at the time of your session. 

• Senior Sessions take place at the location(s) of your choice, and include unlimited clothing changes. I recommend that you choose locations where you will feel comfortable, that have a view that you love or that have special meaning for you. Suggestions include your home, a local park, a rural scene, your school, or somewhere you are involved in an activity (i.e. football field, hockey rink, dance studio, local lake, etc.). Choose a location that is special to you and where you can relax and be yourself.  
• Images will be put into a password protected gallery where you and your family will be able to view them and order prints at your convenience. 
• The Signature includes 10 full resolution processed unwatermarked digital images and Deluxe session fee includes 15 full resolution processed unwatermarked digital images for download from all images taken in the session.  Additional prints available for purchase.
• Processed pictures are edited for color, exposure, tone and clarity consistent with photographer's editing style. Minor blemishes (i.e. a spot, fabric string, teeth whitening, temporary skin blemish) may be corrected at photographer's discretion while processing.
• For any of these sessions, the complete album of high resolution digital images (both edited and unedited) with print release is available for $200. **While full album purchases do not include editing of blemishes etc. on all images contained in the album, all images are individually processed for color, exposure, tone and clarity consistent with photographer editing style.

Sports Sessions:

Sports Session $325**  Lasts up to 120 minutes and includes capturing images of your favorite player(s).  Included are 20 full resolution unwatermarked digital images for download with the ability to purchase the complete game package.  All images from the session will be put into a password protected gallery where you and your family will be able to view them and order prints at your convenience.  

Current 2024 Sports Specials:

• $350 and All Photos of up to 2 players who were the intended subject of the picture are included (player#'s to be photographed must be provided before the game). Does not include group team pictures. 
• $425 for covering a complete team's action which will generally include for example who has the ball or who is defending the player with the ball and those around them and all pictures in the album are included.

The Wisconsin Badgers Women's soccer matches are photographed without any financial compensation. I support this team and these talented student athletes including their competitors. These athletes all sacrifice much more than one realizes and they and their sport need memories preserved. If you ever find a similar gallery to what I provide, please share it with me I'd love to see it.  

 

Child and Family Sessions: 

Signature Family Session $325  Generally lasts about an hour and is great for family sessions or engagement sessions.  Signature family sessions are custom styled portrait sessions held at the location of your choice. 

• This session is a great choice for children, families, and engagement shoots. 
• Signature Sessions include digital downloads of 10 full resolution unwatermarked digital images from any of the photos taken.  Recent family sessions have included over 100 unique photographic memories captured.  It really just depends on how many poses your family members decide to do.  If people start acting silly, if I see some interaction going on or even when you think you're done and you're walking away I'll be capturing.  While all images contain the watermark as seen in photographs posted on this site, you may select 10 images of your choice to download with no watermark and full printing rights.        

Unlimited family members.  There is no charge for additional members of your extended family. If the location you select charges a fee for photography, that amount will be added to the session fee. Travel fee may apply if location is over 30 minutes from DeForest. 

Sweet Memory Session $275  Lasts up to 30 minutes and is perfect for capturing one child’s milestone or a siblings session. Sweet Sessions can be held at your home or at a favorite local destination (must be within DeForest/Windsor for this rate). You may select 7 full resolution unwatermarked digital images for download capturing this special moment in time. Not offered at this time. 
  
 *Additional prints and items such as magnets, wallets etc are available for an additional cost for any sessions listed

Print Package Specials available for all sessions:

• 8x10 Print Package - $35. Includes 1 8x10, 2 5x7's, 1 4x6 and 1 set of wallets. Select one or multiple photos to include.
• Dual 8x10 Print Package - $45. Includes 2 8x10's, 2 5x7's, 1 4x6 and 1 set of wallets. Select one or multiple photos to include.
• 5x7/4x6 Bundle - $99.  Includes 4 5x7's, 20 4x6's. Select one or multiple photos to include.
• Gold Print Package - $135. Includes 4-8x10's, 8-5x7's and 10-4x6's.  Select one or multiple photos to include of your choice mix and match. 22 pictures total.
  • Lab will charge shipping for all packages. Amount varies depending on shipping selection made. Prices listed do not include sales tax.

• You'll get at least the number of digital images indicated for each session. The amount of photographs taken can vary greatly depending on how interactive the subjects are. 
   

A deposit will be requested to reserve your session. A travel fee for areas 15 miles outside of DeForest, WI may apply. Due to the custom nature of photography and digital media, all sales are final. Something to keep in mind is that typically an hour of active shooting photographs results in 4-5 additional hours of processing time afterwards when all images are processed.  I shoot in RAW not jpg allowing the most detail to be retained in photographs.  Downloaded images will be in jpg format. 

• Processed pictures are adjusted for color, tone, exposure and clarity. Minor blemishes (i.e. a spot, fabric string, teeth whitening) and distractions in background may be edited at photographer's discretion while processing.

Client Usage Rights/Copyrights:

The photographs produced by David Gaustad Photography LLC are protected by Federal Copyright Law (all rights reserved) and may not be reproduced in any manner without studio explicit written permission. It is a breach of this contract to reproduce the images in any form unless rights were purchased/provided within the package for those images.

Client reserves the right to post images on social networking sites including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. It is a breach of this contract to crop/hide studio logo.

There will be limited copyright ownership of images delivered on a CD/DVD/FlashDrive or downloaded from the website under these conditions:

Commercial use of these photos is prohibited. These images are for personal use only, and may be reproduced for the purpose of sharing with friends and family. In the event that session photos will be published, sold for profit, used within marketing materials the client must obtain written permission from and compensate David Gaustad Photography LLC prior to the release.

Additional contract will be needed at that time.
 

Studio Usage Rights/Copyrights:

Client grants David Gaustad Photography LLC unrestricted usage rights and copyrights to use and publish photographs in any manner or medium. Client grants David Gaustad Photography LLC permission to use images taken within this session in sample albums, marketing materials, editorial, online web presences, including but not limited to, website, social networks, blog, etc. Images may also be used in photographic competitions and for publication in which case the client will release all profits from images.

In the event that the weather conditions are not desirable for the shoot based on studio recommendations, the session will need to be rescheduled. Due to liability and equipment damages, this decision will be at studio discretion.

Limit of Liability:

In the unlikely event that the photographer is injured or becomes too ill to photograph the session, studio will make every effort to secure a replacement photographer unless otherwise specified by the client. If the situation should occur and a suitable replacement is not found or accepted, a reshoot will be scheduled for the next available time slot. In the unlikely event that photographs have been lost, stolen or destroyed for reasons within or beyond studio control, including but not limited to camera, hard drive, or equipment malfunction, studio liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the portrait/event session. The limit of liability for a partial loss of originals will be a prorated amount of the exposures lost based on the percentage of total number of originals.  David Gaustad Photography LLC is not liable for the loss of images beyond the lesser of the final delivery of all products included in the package or 6 months.
