The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Western Michigan Broncos 3–2 on November 14, 2025, in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament at the McClimon Soccer Complex in Madison. Wisconsin rallied in the second half to overcome an early deficit, snapping Western Michigan’s seven-game win streak and advancing to the tournament’s second round.
Western Michigan struck first in the opening half when Abby Smothers found the net with assists from Avery Peters and Abby Baldridge to give the Broncos a 1–0 lead.
Wisconsin responded with a surge after halftime. Erin Connolly started the comeback by converting a penalty kick to level the match. Connolly then delivered again later in the half, scoring her second goal of the night off an assist from Hailey Baumann to give the Badgers their first lead. Adee Boer extended the advantage with an unassisted goal to make it 3–1.
Western Michigan answered with a goal just a minute later to pull within one, but Wisconsin’s back line held firm down the stretch to secure the 3–2 victory and move on to the second round.
