Although the Michigan State Spartans arrived in Madison on September 28, 2025 undefeated, they played like a team that still had something to prove. From the opening whistle at the McClimon Complex, Michigan State applied steady offensive pressure and rarely let Wisconsin settle into a rhythm. The Spartans struck three times in the first half and repeated the feat in the second, securing a decisive 6–0 victory over the Badgers.
Five different Spartans found the back of the net on the afternoon. Emerson Sargeant led the way with two goals, while Kennedy Bell, Kayleigh McPherson, Sophia Piotrowski, and Renee Watson each added one of their own. In goal, freshman Noelle Henning recorded the shutout for Michigan State. Wisconsin goalkeeper Drew Stover faced a busy day, seeing 17 shots and making seven saves.
As a Wisconsin women's soccer supporter, a result like this is never easy to watch. But the game itself is bigger than the scoreline. Whether it’s a perfectly timed tackle, a sprint down the wing, or the celebration after a goal, the passion of the players on both sides tells the real story. My goal behind the camera is simple: capture that energy wherever it appears on the field, support the growth of NCAA Women's Soccer.
