Cammie Murtha Wisconsin Badgers Women's Soccer vs Purdue Big Ten NCAACamryn Cammie Murtha Wisconsin Badgers Women's Soccer vs. Purdue Boilermakers Women's Soccer in the Big Ten Tournament on November 3 2019.
The Badgers came into the game a bit banged up and still recovering from a win against Ohio State 4 days earlier. The Boilermakers ended up pulling off an upset in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament.
The first half was dominated by the Badgers (14-3-2), out shooting Purdue (8-8-3), 7-2. With only a minute left in the first half, Purdue's Ena Sabanagic scored the game's only goal. Ally Mussallem and Skylurr Patrick were credited with the assists. The second half Wisconsin had a 9-3 shot advantage but weren't able to to find the back of the net. In the end the Boilermakers seeded eighth, shocked top-seeded and seventh-ranked Wisconsin 1-0 in Madison at McClimon.
Had the weather not impacted the original date of the match against Ohio State resulting in the match being postponement days prior to this match, one can only wonder if the outcome would have been different with an equally well rested Wisconsin Badgers Women's Soccer team.
