Wisconsin returned home in dominant fashion on Oct. 20, shutting out Maryland 5–0 at McClimon Soccer Complex. Graduate defender Peighton Steffen and sophomore midfielder Erin Connolly struck in the first half, both assisted by Ashley Martinez, who tallied a season-high three assists.
In the second half, senior Maia Richters netted her first goal of the season, Martinez converted a penalty kick, and freshman Jenna Baumann scored her first collegiate goal in the 89th minute.
The Badgers outshot Maryland 19–3, holding them without a shot on goal, as goalkeeper Drew Stover secured another clean sheet. The five-goal performance marked Wisconsin’s highest-scoring game of the season.
